Council submits bid for Future High Streets Fund

With the recent confirmation that Folkestone's Debenhams store will be closing in 2020, it is important to note that Folkestone & Hythe District Council has been working closely with a number of key strategic partners to develop comprehensive and ambitious plans to deliver its vision for Folkestone.

FOLKESTONE HIGH STREET 2019 THUMBNAIL

The council has significant ambition for regenerating the district and as part of its plans for Folkestone town centre, an Expression of Interest was submitted to the government's Future High Streets Fund at the end of March.

The £675m fund was set up by The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government to help local authorities make their high streets and town centres fit for the future.  If the council's successful in progressing to stage two of the application process then it will be notified later in the summer.
