2024 general election in Folkestone & Hythe

A general election is taking place on Thursday 4 July. Here are the key things you need to know:

• The North Downs East and North Downs West wards now form part of the Ashford parliamentary constituency following a boundary review.
• You will receive a different poll card and, where applicable, a different postal vote if you live in North Downs East or North Downs West.
• You must bring photo ID if voting at a polling station – otherwise we’re unable to issue a ballot paper. You don’t need to bring your polling card.
• Polling stations are open between 7am and 10pm on Thursday 4 July 2024. Check your polling card or our website to find yours.

Key dates:

• Registration to vote deadline: 18 June, midnight
• Postal votes application deadline: 19 June, 5pm
• Proxy votes application deadline: 26 June, 5pm

Results will be declared in the early hours of Friday 5 July. They will be published on the council’s website and social media channels.
