The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise from the nation that those who serve or served in the Armed Forces and their families, are treated fairly and not disadvantaged in their daily lives.
On 2 December 2011 civic and community leaders pledged their support for the Armed Forces at the signing of the Armed Forces Covenant.
Folkestone & Hythe District Council refreshed its Armed Forces Covenant pledges on 3 December 2021 to mark the 10-year anniversary of its original signing.
The district has a long tradition of cooperation between its civilian community and local armed forces.

All the district's town councils and a number of parish councils have also signed the Armed Forces Covenant.
