In plain sight : spotting the signs of exploitation

This free training session is designed to increase awareness of the risks of exploitation as well as help professionals identify any potential safeguarding risks related to specific locations and problems in an area. You can take part either online or in-person.

Community in motion: bringing in the bystander

The free online training session will be run by Cultivating Minds UK.

This training session will equip you with the skills to intervene and prevent harmful situations. You will learn how to recognise, react, and support others in difficult circumstances.

As part of our Safer Streets funding, Swale Borough Council have joined us to offer this free, interactive online coaching. 

Whether you're student, professional, or just someone who wants to create safer community – this training is for you!

Bystander Train the Trainer Courses

Do you have business that would be happy to commit to running bystander training sessions for either your employees or members of the public?  Or are you someone that could deliver regular training to the district?

 If the answer is yes, then you may be interested in our free ‘Bystander- Train the Trainer’ course.  It is four-day course funded by money from the Safer Streets project. The sessions will be held on zoom and will run on the below dates:

  • 16th - 19th September
  • 28th - 31st October

VAWG Training (Violence Against Women and Girls)

Home-Start Shepway and Rising Sun have partnered together to provide free specialist VAWG training to professionals and businesses within the district. Utilising their expertise in this area the training will focus on warning signs, appropriate language, who can help and how to respond appropriately to disclosure.

The training is aimed at individuals, professionals and businesses within the Folkestone community to help them develop deeper understanding about VAWG.
