Ask for Angela is a safe space scheme to help anyone feeling anxious, overwhelmed or worried about their personal safety.
Retailers in Bouverie Square, Folkestone have joined the scheme which has previously operated only in bars and clubs.
Anyone that is feeling unsafe or worried can approach employees in organisations and businesses taking part in the scheme and ‘Ask for Angela’. Staff will recognise that this is a code-phrase and that the person requires help and possibly a place of safety. Retailers and organisations taking part will display a sticker in their window and a full list of participants can be found below:

More shops will join the scheme in the coming months once their staff have undergone training.
