Home energy efficiency

Help with keeping warm this winter

Help from the council with home energy efficiency is very limited this winter and we are NOT participating in the Warm Homes: Local Grant scheme.

We are able to offer Winter Warmth repayable grants. Up to £7,000 is available for installation of heating and/or insulation. This support is available to homeowners who are 65 years and over, in receipt of benefits and/or suffering from a chronic illness which is exacerbated by the cold. These are repayable if the property is sold or changes ownership within 10 years. For assistance please email private.sectorhousing@folkestone-hythe.gov.uk

Please also read our household help leaflet for help with benefits, housing, loans and grants and local support organisations - household-help-leaflet

Our commitment to improving energy efficiency

The Home Energy Conservation Act requires local councils in England, which have housing responsibilities, to report their own priorities, ambitions and the measures being taken to improve energy efficiency of their residential accommodation.

These are outlined in the Energy Efficiency Report 2023 (PDF, 225KB)
