The council's draft Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) has now been submitted for independent examination.

The CIL is a fee that local authorities can charge on new development in their area and is an important tool to help deliver the infrastructure needed to support development in the district.

Minor modifications have been made to the Draft Charging Proposal following representations received during a public consultation held earlier this year.

These amendments have been compiled in a Statement of Modifications, which can be found along with all other documentation by visiting folkestone-hythe.gov.uk/cil/review/submission-2022

Leader Cllr David Monk said: "The Community Infrastructure Levy raises vital funds to help us support development across the district. It's so important that new developments have appropriate infrastructure in place and this process helps us make sure this becomes a reality.'

Any person who wishes to be heard in relation to any of the modifications can request to do this before 22 December 2022.

Hard copies of the submission documents are available to view by appointment at the Civic Centre in Folkestone. To make an appointment or to request a slot to feedback please email planning.policy@folkestone-hythe.gov.uk or call 01303 853000.
