Which local community issues do you think our councillors should be talking about in 2023/24?

Residents can now submit their ideas for the overview and scrutiny committee's 2023/24 programme - with previous topics such as the cost of living and the Levelling Up Fund recently discussed in the council chamber.

Cllr Jenny Hollingsbee, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Communities, said: "Everyone will have their own idea about what is important so this is the perfect opportunity to let us know what you think should be on the agenda."

Topics do not have to be limited to the council or the service it provides but cannot include planning applications, licensing matters housing appeals or disciplinary issues.

Submissions will be assessed by our monitoring officer before being presented at the Annual Meeting of the Council in May 2023.

Committee chair Cllr Michelle Keutenius added: "There are no hard and fast rules about what makes a good topic, but only issues that affect residents across the district can be considered."

The quickest and easiest way to submit your idea is by visiting folkestone-hythe.gov.uk/your-council/democracy/council-scrutiny and completing the online form.

Alternatively, write to Committee Services, Civic Centre, Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone, Kent, CT20 2QY.

The deadline for suggestions is 28 February 2023.
