Folkestone landslips update

Following recent landslips in Folkestone, the council is investigating what work is necessary to try and reduce further slippages.

A special aerial survey (LIDAR) is to be carried out enabling a detailed map of ground conditions to be created.

This will be considered alongside a survey of all the large trees on the coastal park cliff and highlight any areas prone to future landslips.

Some stretches of coastal park footpaths have had to be closed. The Road of Remembrance also remains shut following the landslips and falls of trees onto the road in January and February.

Further information is being updated in the Parks area of the website.
