Traders and makers are being invited to sign up for trial markets popping up in Folkestone town centre as part of a market improvement programme.
People selling art, crafts, vintage and pre-loved clothes and furniture are being sought to take part in the new events which will complement and enhance the existing market in Folkestone town centre.
These are part of the Folke About Town series and are taking place on the following dates:
- Folkestone Street Market - Saturday 24 August and Saturday 5 October
- Skate, Cycle, Teenage Market and Music Day - Friday 6 September
- Art + Craft Market (as part of Open Art Folke 2024) - Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September
Folkestone & Hythe District Council Leader, Cllr Jim Martin, added: “Folke About Town is all about seeing what type of events work to energise the heart of Folkestone.
‘I’d encourage makers and traders to get in touch if any of the markets suit what they have to offer.”
These markets are part of the Folke About Town programme bringing vibrancy– specifically Sandgate Road and Guildhall Street, mirroring the physical regeneration planned for the wider area.
The series of test events is being co-produced with businesses and individuals in the community with the aim that successful ones will be sustained into the future.
Pitches for a market stall are £10. To sign up or for more information please visit here.
