Folkestone & Hythe District Council is asking young artists to support a campaign encouraging people to do the right thing and put their litter in the bin.

F&HDC is working with recycling and waste collections partner, Veolia to launch a poster design competition as part of the Great British Spring Clean campaign.

The winner will receive a £50 Love2Shop voucher as well as the chance to see their design on the side of a bin lorry. The two runners up will each receive a £25 Love2Shop voucher.

Entrants must be under 18 and can enter the competition on the council website.

The deadline for submissions is 20 April 2025.

A council spokesperson said “We’re pleased to launch our anti-litter poster competition, and we hope young people across the district will want to get involved.

“We are looking for designs inspiring  and encouraging our residents and visitors to take pride in and look after this beautiful district and make it a cleaner and greener place.”

David Fitzgerald, General Manager for Veolia South East, said: “We are delighted to be part of this anti-littering poster competition that empowers pupils to become environmental champions in their communities. Veolia is proud to not only deliver essential recycling and waste services to Folkestone and Hythe residents, but to support projects like this that encourage even the youngest residents to look after their environment."
