Residents will continue to have access to free, independent and confidential advice thanks to a new agreement.
Following the sudden closure of Citizens Advice (Shepway) in December 2024, temporary cover has been provided by Citizens Advice (Dover, Deal and District).
Folkestone & Hythe District Council has now agreed a new partnership with Citizens Advice (Dover, Deal and District) to ensure this valuable support remains available to its residents.
Citizens Advice offer information on a wide range of matters including benefits, housing issues, discrimination, education, employment, health, money and relationships.
Volunteers can also link people to other services, write letters and complete forms on their behalf.
A Folkestone & Hythe District Council spokesperson said: “This is a valuable service and Citizens Advice (Dover, Deal & District) has assisted a great number of our residents since late last year on a variety of problems and issues.
“We are pleased to support the project and ensure it is there for those who need impartial information without judgement.”
Advisers are available to be contacted by calling 01304 353861, visiting doverdealadvice.co.uk or by attending the Rainbow Centre, Folkestone (CT20 2AF) on Thursdays between 10am and 3pm.
A new website for residents in Folkestone & Hythe is to be developed soon.
