Bank holiday changes to council services

There will be a number of changes to council services on Monday as the nation marks the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

The day has been declared a national bank holiday to allow the country to pay its respects and commemorate her reign.

Speaking last week, leader Cllr David Monk said: "As Queen she served for more than 70 years and her devotion to the role of our Sovereign was remarkable."

Household and garden waste collections

Household and garden waste collections will be moved back by 24 hours for all residents - meaning your bins will be emptied a day later during the week.

Household and garden waste collections will return to normal on Monday 26 September. Clinical waste collections are unaffected and will continue as normal.

Customer Access Point

Our Customer Access Point will be closed on Monday and reopen to the public on Tuesday morning.

Hythe Swimming Pool

Hythe Swimming Pool will be closed on Monday and reopen to the public on Tuesday. Any booked lessons or sessions will be rearranged.

Book of Condolence

A Book of Condolence has been opened at the Civic Centre.

It can still be signed when the Customer Access Point is open between 10am and 4pm on weekdays. The book will be closed for the final time at 4pm on Tuesday 20 September.
