Litter picking

Folkestone & Hythe is a beautiful district - you can help us keep it that way.

Community clean-ups are a simple way of helping us reduce the amount of litter on our streets, and make a special contribution to the environment and enhance our daily cleaning schedules.

It's also a good way to meet new people, learn new skills, and enjoy the fresh Kentish air.

If you wish to organise one on public land, we can help by providing all the equipment and support needed. Email our Area Officers for more information.

Or you can join in with any of the events which take place across the district throughout the year. It's easy to get involved!

Regular litter picks supported by F&HDC:

  • Hythe Environmental Community Group meets on the first Saturday of every month at 10am. Locations vary, so check its website for the latest information.
  • Litter pickers gather at Hawkinge Community Centre (CT18 7FP) on the third Saturday of every month at 10am.

To have your F&HDC supported litter-picking event featured on this page, email the details to communications@folkestone-hythe.gov.uk.
