You must meet certain specifications and be licensed by us if you want to use your vehicle as a taxi (hackney cab or private hire vehicle).
The vehicle must be less than 4 years old when you first licence it.
Any driver of the vehicle must have a Folkestone & Hythe District Council taxi driver's license.
Vehicle licence applications can only be processed if a licensed taxi driver is named on the insurance.
Once the taxi is licensed, it can only be driven by a licensed taxi driver, so unlicensed drivers cannot be listed on the insurance policy.
