Hawkinge Cemetery headstones and memorials

If you want to put a memorial on a grave, you or your stone mason will have to apply for permission. If there is more than one grave owner we require permission from all owners.

As grave owner, you're responsible for the upkeep of the memorial. If we think it's unsafe it will be laid down and you will be charged a fee.

Maximum sizes permitted for memorials

Headstones with concrete headstone channel: 100cm high, 75cm wide, 10cm deep

Headstones with earthen headstone channel: 137cm high, 92cm wide, 10cm deep

Vase, tablet and plaque: 30.5cm high, 75cm wide, 38cm deep

Bases: 10cm high, 97cm wide, 38cm deep

Adult kerb plot: 213cm high, 90cm wide, 15cm high

Child kerb plot: 120cm long, 80cm wide, 15cm high
