Breach of Community Protection Notices

A couple from Lydd who failed to clear up a build-up of waste were found guilty of breaching Community Protection Notices issued by Environmental Protection officers.

The waste was having a detrimental impact on neighbours. Attempts to work with the residents over a series of months failed, and opportunities were provided to clear waste from the garden.

Failure to clear the waste resulted in the couple having to pay a total of £1500 costs at Margate Magistrates Court.

Fly-tipping

Increased patrols in problematic areas resulted in officers issuing two Fixed Penalty Notices of £300 each for fly-tipping next to bins
